DMP: A New Community Platform for Diabetics

TORONTO – August 19, 2020 – (Newswire.com)

Recently, TLC Platforms Inc. launched a free app named DMP (Diabetes Management Platform) to bring together a diabetes community along with their support systems. Developed by a determined team of compassionate individuals, DMP strives to provide a platform for diabetic individuals around the world to smoothly make new connections and reach medical professionals.

While there is notable academic research done on the benefits of social media usage for diabetics, The TLC Platforms Inc. team noticed a lack of diabetic social media platforms available on the market. From this realization, the TLC team cultivated the DMP app and the community it would bring together.

Sean Zaboroski, TLC Platforms Inc.’s founder and CEO explained: “After months of market research, surveys, and speaking to diabetics of all ages and different types, we discovered their needs and started building. Our mandate is to foster a community of people living with or supporting those diagnosed with diabetes.”

The DMP user interface is user-friendly and easy to use. It enables users to conveniently learn more about managing diabetes and share their experiences and stories with others. Users can effortlessly update their profiles, engage in group forums, join live streams, and read featured stories written by other users.

Licensed dietitians, diabetes influencers, and medical researchers host weekly live streams on the DMP app to provide users with accessible and relevant information to support their conditions and lifestyles. During live streams, interactive features such as comment sections and Q&As allow for realtime user-to-user interaction.

In their market research, the DMP team deduced that healthcare systems provide inadequate resources and support, especially for newly diagnosed diabetics. In efforts to solve this problem, DMP developed a “Find Professionals” feature to integrate “diabetes coaches” on the app to help newly diagnosed diabetics get the professional support they need.

It is the mission of DMP to cultivate support among diabetic individuals in a community setting. Individuals from loved ones of diabetics to healthcare professionals are all welcomed on the DMP app and encouraged to have conversations about diabetes management.

DMP has accumulated 400 active users within the first month of their app launch and the number of users are continuously increasing at a promising rate.
