Global Innovation Platform has named Marshall Dougherty, COO of Harrison, Walker and Harper, as a board member.

Dougherty currently serves as the chief operations officer for Harrison, Walker and Harper, based in Paris, Texas. He also focuses on investing and growing early-stage technology companies as a partner at Target Hill Capital, based in Kansas City. Prior to his leadership in the private sector, Dougherty served in the U.S. Army for 32 years. As Senior Representative of the Secretary of Defense, he planned, coordinated, and integrated DoD support of civil authorities and homeland defense programs in a four-state FEMA region.
Across his military career, Dougherty has concentrated on issues at the intersection of leadership, people, and technology. He has previously served as chief of staff in the Republic of Korea; chief executive officer (brigade commander) in Fort Knox, KY and Fort Benning, GA; special assistant to the CEO (secretary of the general staff) in Fort Lewis, WA; and chief executive officer (battalion commander) in Iraq and Fort Lewis, WA. He is a veteran decorated for valor in combat.
Dougherty received his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a Master of Science in Mineral Economics and Operations Research from Colorado School of Mines. Marshall is a Level III Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Candidate.
