Children’s book offers unique perspective into the values and importance of hunting

Matthew Butler is excited to announce the official second edition release of his children’s book ‘Billy Goes Hunting’ on Kindle.
Butler, a native of Utah, learned to hunt deer, dove, rabbit, duck, squirrel, and pheasant at a young age, and even when he was stationed with the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C., he still found opportunities to hunt. As a father of three daughters, Butler involved his children in hunting. When his youngest daughter was being bullied about his love for hunting, Butler wanted to find a children’s book to show his daughter the often overlooked positive points of hunting, and when he couldn’t find the book he wanted, he set out to create his own.
‘Billy Goes Hunting’ educates kids about the role of hunting in environmentalism and shows them how hunters do positive things for the environment, animals, and their habitats.
“The purpose of taking a child hunting is NOT about the hunt,” said Butler. “The purpose of the hunt is spending quality time teaching ethical hunting practices, gaining an appreciation for nature, developing bonds between parent and child, creating memories, and sharing our values.”
Butler self-published ‘Billy Goes Hunting’, and the book continues to get high reviews on websites such as Amazon.
