Peejamas Chosen as Licensing Partner for “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”

Innovative pajamas that help kids with nighttime potty training join Fisher Price and Simon & Schuster as licensing partners for Emmy-winning kids program.

Peejamas has sealed a deal to become a licensing partner for “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” an Emmy-winning children’s television program based on the character from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.

Peejamas are designer pajamas that serve as an alternative to bedwetting diapers and help with nighttime potty training. They are absorbent enough to prevent soaked sheets when kids have accidents, but unlike diapers that fully wick the feeling of moisture away, Peejamas allow kids to feel a slight wet sensation that triggers them to get up and use the bathroom. Peejamas can hold up for over 300 wash cycles, making them far easier on the environment than disposable diapers.

Peejamas has signed a deal with 9 Story Brands, the worldwide licensing agent for “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and its producer Fred Rogers Productions. Peejamas will join the likes of Fisher-Price, Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing and Zappos in producing and selling goods with the “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” brand.

Paul Siefkin, president and chief executive officer of Fred Rogers Productions, lauded the new partnerships and their implications for young program viewers. “It’s especially satisfying to be working with such important category leaders that create high-quality and lasting products that will keep children engaged while having fun with Daniel and his friends beyond the screen.”

Kyra Halperin, vice president of consumer products for 9 Story Brands, said that her company is excited to work with products “that will help families tackle key milestones with their favorite tiger.”

The inventor of Peejamas, Craig Hammond, said that he developed Peejamas to make the milestone of potty training more accessible based on experiences with his own child. “As my wife and I were dealing with soiled sheets and middle-of-the-night wake-up calls, we knew there had to be a better way,” said Hammond.

He was also concerned with the lasting impact diapers were having on the environment. “I would look at the heap of diapers in our trash can and know that they were going to be in the landfill for a very long time,” said Hammond. “I wanted to make something that would help kids and the environment at the same time.”

Hammond said that he believes 9 Story Brands was drawn to his practical alternative to cloth diapers based on its ability to deliver on both of those fronts.

“Not only are we making nighttime potty training easier for kids, but we have also kept 16 million diapers from going to the landfill in the two years that we have been producing Peejamas,” said Hammond.

Hammond launched Peejamas on Kickstarter, where it became the most successful children’s apparel item in the history of the crowd-funding platform. He said that he believes that the missions of “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and Peejamas have a lot in common. “The television program gives kids the tools they need to live happier lives and make the world around them better. That’s what we are hoping to accomplish with Peejamas as well.”

Peejamas are made of fabrics that are OEKO-TEX 100 certified, which means they are free of potentially harmful chemicals and gentle on children’s skin. They were featured on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News and in USA Today and Parents Magazine. To learn more about Peejamas, visit www.Peejamas.com.
