LOS ANGELES – May 12, 2020 – (Newswire.com)

Ariento Inc., an IT, cybersecurity and compliance service provider to small and mid-sized organizations, announced today that Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Accreditation Body board member Chris Golden will speak at the annual Up On Cyber Conference on June 25.

CMMC is a new cyber compliance standard that will be required for contractors by the Department of Defense (DoD). It is expected to take effect later this year.

As a member of the Accreditation Body board that is responsible for certifying third party assessing organizations (C3PAO) that will conduct independent audits of all contractors to the Department of Defense (DoD), Chris will speak on what companies can expect during their audits. Additional speakers include members of the development team tasked by the Department of Defense to create the CMMC standard, as well as the DoD itself.

This year’s Up On Cyber conference will be held virtually and will focus exclusively on the recently released CMMC cyber standard. “We wanted to provide a comprehensive look at CMMC and, therefore, built a speaker lineup that represents each stakeholder,” said Ariento’s Jennifer Fullerton, “to include the DoD who sponsored the standard, John Hopkins and CMU who created the standard, the Accreditation Body who will inspect the standard, and the small defense contractors that will have to comply.”

Chris Golden is a career risk manager and recognized expert in both Cybersecurity and Third-Party Risk Management. Chris took his commission in the USAF after receiving his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. After his retirement from the Air Force, Chris continued to serve in a number of technical defense contractor positions. Upon leaving the Federal sector, Chris was hired by DTCC as their Director of Cybersecurity Strategic Planning. He holds two Master’s degrees, an MS in Computer Information Systems and an MA from the Naval War College. Chris also holds multiple Cybersecurity and Third-Party Risk Management Certifications such as CISSP, CTPRP, CISA among others. He is a noted, published speaker in risk management.
