With Covid-19 Pinching Budgets, Peejamas Help Families Save on Diapers

Pajamas that double as reusable overnight diapers save families over 65% on diapers per use.

Since covid-19 arrived in the U.S., the stock market has been dashed, unemployment is surging, and grocery prices are expected to rise. As families look for cost-cutting measures to stay afloat, parents of toddlers are opting for a reusable nighttime diaper alternative called Peejamas.

Peejamas are stylish and comfy kids pajamas that can be worn as an alternative to disposable diapers. They are absorbent enough to keep sheets from getting soaked from overnight accidents but still leave a slight wet feeling to alert kids to get up and use the bathroom, which helps accelerate potty training.

Because Peejamas are reusable, they save families at least 65% over the cost of diapers. They can be washed over 300 times, leading to a net savings of $93 over the lifetime of just one pair of Peejamas.

Craig Hammond, the company’s founder, got the idea for Peejamas when he was in the throes of potty training his own child and looking for options that were cheaper and more Earth-friendly.

“I would look into our garbage bin piled up with diapers and hate the fact that we were throwing money away and also hurting the environment,” said Hammond.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 20 billion diapers are thrown into landfills each year.

Hammond initially funded Peejamas through Kickstarter, where it became the most successful child apparel product ever to launch from the online fundraising platform. Just two years later, Peejamas have kept 16 million diapers out of the landfill.

Hammond said that with the economy sagging, people are getting resourceful and looking for alternatives to things they once thought were essential.

“Disposable diapers have their advantages, but there are many other options,” said Hammond. “We think Peejamas are the best reusable diaper iteration out there. They can accomplish the same thing as overnight training pants while helping the planet and people’s pocketbooks, too.”

Hammond’s company launched a special Earth Day deal to save families 20% off their order, and they are extending the deal through May to give families a break in light of the troubled economy (promotional code NOTP20).

Peejamas are made of fabrics that are OEKO-TEX 100 certified, meaning they are free of unnecessary chemicals and gentler on kids’ skin.

They were featured on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News and in Parents magazine and USA Today. To read more about Peejamas, visit www.Peejamas.com.
