Is Jatropha oil the perfect biofuel?

Inedible Jatropha bean shrubs have for years been planted in poor soil, especially in Africa and India, to create cash-crops for low-income farmers in semi-deserts. The oil, harvested at 600 gallons per acre, is used in lamp oil and antibiotic soap. Animals don't eat the shrub and it's also inedible for humans. Jatropha oil has a lower freezing point than jet fuel, making it perfect for high-altitude flying, Air New Zealand found on its first test flight with a 50% mix of the experimental bio-fu
