US soldiers donate school supplies in Djibouti

American schoolchildren donated the boxes full of school supplies which were handed to Ethiopian refugee children in Djibouti by soldiers of the AFRICOM command this month. The US maintains its only military base on the African mainland on this strategic peninsula at the entrance to the Suez Canal - increasingly destabilised by Jihadist extremism and piracy attacks targetting merchant shipping.
