Brian Goodall, a parliamentarian of the opposition Democratic Alliance in South Africa, was attacked in his Benoni home on November 20 - and his son, visiting from the UK, was shot at but not injured. His party has just lodged a petition with the Independent Electoral Commission, demanding that the 1,5-million South Africans working abroad be given voting facilities for the forthcoming presidential elections at foreign embassies.
