Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., reads aloud a quote he always carries with him. The quote, by George Washington in 1789, reads "The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars and how they were treated and appreciated by their nation."
