The environment is in a stinking mess by those who only care about how much money they have. This is one of the reasons why factory farming has got to stop. Land is being stripped for cattle grazing. male chicks are put throught the mincer at birth, then added to animal feed, male calves are shot in the head at birth or shortly after so that you can drink the milk from his mother that nature intended for him. Cattle breeding is certainly a "hands on " job, as the male is so huge from the growth stimulating feeds he gets, that he can't even mount the female! then what? Well, the cow is so obviously raped and impregnated by the farmer...so yes, there should be some kind of financial penalty for these greedy farmers. This isn't what I'd call animal welfare, though so many farming practices like this are allowed and often by the very people who should protect them, the government. I've been vegan for a few years so that I am not part of giving my money to factory farming, but then, the government go and give hand - outs to "struggling " farmers!! I don't want my hard-earned cash going to something I am morally against! Look at BSE, salmonella, bovine TB, its not spread by badgers as the farmers report but by stinking farming practices. And how much has it cost us tax payers to put right?

just imagine all those poor animals chopped up by farmers while they are harvesting grain and corn, or the insects killed by insecticide or the introduction of predator species. If I were you I would boycott food altogether and plug your behind so you are not sending methane into the atmosphere.

onoins: I'm on Samanthas side in this issue. Have you considered the harm and pain you cause to each of the plants which is murdered for your gastro-benefit?
Have you no concern for the Vegicide you inflict on the planet?
    (p.s. grease the cork first)
