The Federal Bureau of Investigation Hostage Rescue Team (FBI HRT) patch and emblem. The eagle on the patch represents the HRT operative while the chain in its talons represent the bondage of fear, anxiety, emotional distress and psychological oppression and paralysis that terrorism causes to society. Note that the chain is severed with one section of it in each of the eagle's talons. At the bottom of the patch reads:"Servare Vitas" which when translated from Latin to English means "To Save Lives
