Rural health workers, called ASHA workers are going out to Damchherra villages in Tripura, India. These women are playing vital role in providing rural health care to villagers who are mostly poor, ignorant and illiterate. Owing to their continuous effort, pre-natal and post natal death in rural Tripura have significantly reduced. These women, each responsible to oversee particular area, maintain a good rapport and come handy in case of medical emergency to helpless villagers.
