Acute potable water crisis in the forest and hill areas of Tripura, India is major cause of stomach related diseases and death. Tribal community is the worst sufferer. The Government has started ferrying drinking water in water tankers from the plain land to affected areas. Twice a day supply of potable water in the forest covered hill areas is paying dividend as number of death from stomach related problems have come down significantly.
