The first promotional trailer has been released for season 2 of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure," covering the "Stardust Crusaders" arc, which airs on April 4.
The first promotional trailer has been released for the upcoming 2nd season of the anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation. Season 2, which covers the “Stardust Crusaders” arc of the manga, will air in Japan this coming April. If you are a fan of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, then stay tuned in April where the first episode will air. For those that have watched the original video animations (OVA) that came out in 1993 & 2000 and/or played the first game (which came out to the arcades and Sony Playstation), you should already get the gist of Stardust Crusaders.
The air date is April 4 for the first episode of season 2.
Season 1 composed of the first two chapters of the manga, respectively, “Phantom Blood” and “Battle Tendency.” The first part, which came out in 1987, takes place in Victorian Era England in which protagonist Jonathan Joestar ends up fighting his evil adopted brother Dio Brando with the former utilizing the powers of Hamon and the latter utilizing the powers of vampirism.
The second part, which came out in 1989, starts out in New York City and focuses on Joseph Joestar who is the grandson of Jonathan. He continues the fight; while going up against vampires, Joseph has to save the world from the Pillarmen.
Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, ran in 1989. While Joseph still serves as a main character, the focus is on his grandson Jotaro Kujo. Dio, who was defeated in the first part, is back in action. By pricking himself with a special artifact, Dio managed to obtain a special psychic ability called a Stand (similar to personae in Shin Megami Tensei's “Persona” series). Due to Dio's head being sewn onto Jonathan's body, everybody in the Joestar bloodline have acquired a Stand ability as well. Holly Kujo, Jotaro's mother and Joseph's daughter, develops one as well but lacks the fighting spirit to control it.
It's a race against time and a trip from Japan all the way to Egypt to defeat Dio and to save Holly from succumbing to her Stand and dying. Grandfather and grandson, along with allies on the way, travel to Egypt while going up against other Stand users that get in their way. Stardust Crusaders is the one chapter in which following chapters focuses on Stand users.
This first trailer showcases Joseph Joestar and his Stand called "Purple Hermit."
