Austin - Seventy-six films will premiere at this year's South By Southwest festival in Austin, TX. Among them are "All Is By My Side," a Jimi Hendrix biopic starring Outkast's Andre 3000, and "SVDDXNLY," a documentary about rapper A$AP Rocky.
All Is By My Side will be making its US debut at SXSW. It premiered last year at the Toronto Film Festival.
In SVDXNNLY, director David Lavin gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the career of rapper of A$AP Rocky. SVDDXNLY features never-before-seen footage including interviews with friends and family, home videos, and more.
The film is narrated by A$AP Rocky himself, Wiz Khalifa, Macklemore, designer Jeremy Scott, Kathy Griffin, and Rihanna among others.
In The Case Of The Three Sided Dream, director Adam Kahan chronicles the life and career of blind jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
Other SXSW film premieres include Leave The World Behind, Christian Larson's look into the breakup of Swedish House Mafia, Road To Austin, a film by Gary Fortin, which documents Austin's rise to becoming the live music capital of the world, and Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton, a documentary about Stones Throw Records, an LA-based record company. In 2013, Stones Throw reissued J Dilla's highly acclaimed instrumental album Donuts.
SXSW will also debut Rubber Soul, Jon Lefkovitz's reconstruction of John Lennon and Yoko Ono interviews as well as many other films chronicling the lives and careers of artists such as Johnny Winter and two country music empires, the Carters and the Cashes, Billboard reports.
