By Markos Papadatos     Dec 19, 2013 in Entertainment
Singer-songwriter Steve Grand's single "All-American Boy" and its music video have become a viral phenomenon, thus accumulating over 2.5 million views on YouTube.
Grand is the first openly gay male country singer and his single is quite heartfelt and warm. The music video was directed and edited by Jason Knade.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Grand was the sole writer of the song, and he is also featured on vocals and on such instruments as piano and guitar.
The Verdict
Overall, Steve Grand's ballad "All-American Boy" has a haunting vibe to it similar to Lady Gaga's "You And I," yet his vocals are smooth and crisp and reminiscent of country singer Joel Crouse, who is signed to Show-Dog Universal Music. "All-American Boy" is a tune about unrequited love and he delivers a refreshing vocal performance that will resonate well with his fans and listeners. One can really hear Steve Grand's heart on this song, especially since it is filled with raw emotions. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
