article imageSeth MacFarlane: 'We'd have to be f--king high' to kill off Brian

By Alex Allen     Dec 16, 2013 in Entertainment
It looks like the admins of the hundreds of "Bring Back Brian Griffin" Facebook pages can finally stop making posts and sending tweets to the show's creators. Brian Griffin is back on Family Guy.
It has been an interesting few weeks for FOX's popular Sunday night cartoon Family Guy. On the November 24th episode of the show, fans were led to believe that veteran character Brian Griffin (the family dog) had died. Brian was preparing to play a game of street hockey with his long time friend and the family baby, Stewie, when a car sped around the corner and slammed into him, sending him to the veterinarian where he later died. To add to the drama, the Griffins got a new dog named Vinnie, who was even featured in the bumper of the next show.
On December 15th, however, a Christmas miracle occurred in the holiday episode of the show. Brian was brought back from the dead as Stewie caught up with a time traveling version of himself, stole the return pad for the time machine that he had previously destroyed, and went back in time to the exact moment when Brian was killed to save him. (Fans may remember a quick cutaway gag in Brian's "death" episode in which Stewie went forward in time to Christmas to get his hands on some new toys.)
Ending what may be one of the biggest "trolls" in television history, series creator and executive producer Seth MacFarlane sent out the following tweet shortly after the Christmas special aired on the east coast:
I mean, you didn't really think we'd kill off Brian, did you? Jesus, we'd have to be fucking high.
He also sent out another tweet shortly thereafter thanking everyone for " caring so much about the canine Griffin" and assuring fans that [Brian] was "overcome with gratitude."
Rumors were already surfacing before the December 15th episode that Brian would be returning for Christmas.
