article image'Seinfeld' reunion of some sort confirmed by Jerry Seinfeld

By Marcus Hondro     Jan 30, 2014 in Entertainment
Details are sketchy but what details there are lead to this: some or all of the Seinfeld TV show gang are together filming. A show, movie, commercial - what? Well, Jerry and George are filming with other characters, and it's longer than 60 seconds.
But that's all we know...almost.
Jerry Seinfeld himself was questioned about it all this morning on the New York radio show called 'Boomer and Carton.' After all these years - the last episode aired on May 14, 1998 - why was anyone asking him about a reunion show? Because he and Jason Alexander, who played George Costanza on 'Seinfeld', were seen hanging out at their favorite New York coffee shop together.
Speculation was they were filming a quick hit for Seinfeld's internet series, 'Comedians in Cars Getting Coffees' but when his radio hosts asked if that's what he and Alexander were doing, Seinfeld said it wasn't. He said it was something else and Alexander was indeed playing George Costanza in it and that other characters - he didn't say which - from 'Seinfeld' were part of the project.
'Untitled Seinfeld project': Superbowl connection?
He called it a "secret project" and said Larry David, creator and producer of the show, was also involved. While saying it would be over 60 seconds he also said it would not be long, so a movie is out and possible even a 30-minute TV show is therefore out. The world would see it soon, he also said.
MTV speculated that given Seinfeld is a huge sports fan the project could be connected to the Superbowl coming to New York for the first time. With the game going Sunday, and Seinfeld's hints about brevity and how the project would be out soon, TMZ may have scored a touchdown with that theory.
Jerry Seinfeld is 59, Jason Alexander 54, Julia-Louis Dreyfus, who played Elaine Benes, is 53 and Michael Richards, who was Kramer, is 64. The original 'Seinfeld' can still be seen on reruns.
