Legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, aka Keef, has lived the rock and roll lifestyle to the full. His battered face is not just a sign of his age but the result of years of abuse. How he managed to survive to the age of 70 is any person's guess, but survive he has and is still rocking and performing.
Wednesday it was Happy Birthday Keef and the Huffington Post decided to celebrate that event with a series of photos of Richards, and the rest of the British band members, down the years.
Richards and Stones vocalist Mick Jagger penned most of the band's hit recordings. Fourteen songs Richards wrote with Jagger are listed among Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Songs" and the magazine credited Richards for "rock's greatest single body of riffs" on guitar, ranking him 10 on its list of 100 best guitarists.
