Uniondale - On February 16, up-and-coming country singer Danielle Bradbery opened for country superstar Brad Paisley as part of his "Beat This Winter" tour at New York's Nassau Coliseum.
Bradbery shared the stage with such musicians as RCA Nashville recording artist Chris Young, country producer, DJ and mixer, Dee Jay Silver, as well as headliner Brad Paisley.
She commenced her set with "Talk About Love," a track from her debut studio album on Big Machine Records.
"Thank you," she said. "How's everybody doing tonight?" she asked the New York audience.
It was followed by a rendition of Sara Evans' "A Little Bit Stronger," which she dubbed as one of her favorite songs that she performed while on the reality singing competition, "The Voice," where she was mentored by Blake Shelton. In "A Little Bit Stronger," Bradbery showcased her tremendous vocal range and made those high notes seem effortless.
Bradbery continued with "Never Like This," as the stage was graced in green lights.
"Thank you," the country songstress said graciously as it was met with a warm reception.
She shared that it was a "really cool" feeling that "My Day," the closing track of her album, was song for the 2014 Winter Olympics. She went on to deliver a controlled performance of the tune, where she displayed her perfect pitch, as well as her dynamic range.
"Thank you to country radio and the fans for making this my first single," she said, prior to singing her breakthrough single "The Heart of Dixie," as her music video for the song was playing in the large screens in the background. Particularly impressive about this single is that the majority of the audience members were singing the words back to her verbatim.
Bradbery closed her set with another new tune from the album, "Wild Boy."
"Thank you," she said, and continued to express her gratitude to the fans for coming out and seeing her tonight, as well as her talented four-piece band.
"Who is ready for Chris Young and Brady Paisley?" she shouted. "Thank you so much," she concluded prior to leaving the stage.
The Verdict
Overall, Danielle Bradbery did a superb job warming up the stage for Silver, Young and Paisley. She deserves to become the next big female country mega-star in the genre. Her live show tonight garnered an A rating.
Bradbery will be embarking on a national bus tour to raise awareness on music education as part of "Music In Our Schools Month," as Digital Journal previously reported.
According to country radio personality Party Marty Mitchell, who was present at this concert, he remarked, "Danielle Bradbery is one of the rising stars in country music. For 17 years old, she seems liked a seasoned pro. 'Team Blake' trained her well on 'The Voice.'"
