By Markos Papadatos     Feb 4, 2014 in Entertainment
Country singer and RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen released his latest single "Beachin'" to radio on February 3. It is the second track off his album "Days of Gold."
It has already amassed 67 first-week station adds. The music video for "Beachin'" is a true work of art. It was directed by director Mason Dixon, who has filmed many of Owen's videos in the past, as well as rising country songstress Elizabeth Lyons' stellar music video for "Everything Tonight," among other musical acts.
It was filmed at Daytona Beach in Florida and it has a relaxing vibe to it, that is reminiscent of quintessential tunes by such artists as Kenny Chesney and Billy Currington.
With the polar vortex that is taking place in most states around the country, many will wish they were somewhere "Beachin'" and listening to this Jake Owen single as their theme song.
"Beachin'" was co-written by Jaren Johnston from The Cadillac Three, as well as fellow songwriters Jon Nite and Jimmy Robbins. It allows his fans to see a different side of him on this new tune and it should fare well on country radio. It garners a B+ rating.
Owen is expected to be out on his "Days of Gold" headlining tour, which will include at least 55 cities, with special guests such as country groups Eli Young Band and Parmalee, rising country artist Thomas Rhett and country trio The Cadillac Three. One of those tour stops will be at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on May 30.
Most recently, Owen helped raised money for Kids Cancer Alliance, along with several of his other country artist friends.
