article imageReview: Country singer Marshall Dane rocks on new single 'Alcohol Abuse' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jan 15, 2014 in Entertainment
If you like country singers Garth Brooks and Dierks Bentley, then you are in for a real treat with country singer Marshall Dane.
Dane was nominated in several categories in last year's Ontario Country Music Awards, including "Male Artist" and "Album of the Year." He is also a supporter of such philanthropic causes as Stop A Bully fundraisers, Breast Cancer Awareness and Juvenile Diabetes research. He has opened for such artists as Emerson Drive and Alan Jackson.
His new single "Alcohol Abuse" is slightly reminiscent of Garth Brooks' "Ain't Goin' Down ('Til The Sun Comes Up)" and Bentley's "What Was I Thinkin'." Being a fan of both songs, this should be perceived as a major compliment.
The Verdict
The infectious country single "Alcohol Abuse" starts out slow and then builds up into this cool, mid-tempo country rock tune. It was penned by veteran songwriter Kim Williams and Grammy nominee Billy Yates. It is definitely worth checking out, especially if you are a fan of traditional country music, then Marshall Dane is the country artist for you. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. Well done.
