New York - Warner Music Nashville recording country artist Cole Swindell played at Madison Square Garden in New York on January 25.
He warmed up the stage for country star Lee Brice, as well as headliner country superstar Luke Bryan as part of his "That's My Kind of Night" tour.
Swindell was the first performer to take the stage and he played songs from his forthcoming self-titled debut studio album. He opened his set with the up-tempo "Hey Ya'll" and it was followed by "Brought To You By Beer" and "Get Up."
"Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" was another dynamic and catchy vocal that should be released as a single in the future. Equally fun and impressive was the upbeat "Lemme See Ya Girl."
Swindell closed his 6-song set with his Top 10 hit "Chillin' It," which has been certified gold and has the potential to climb a lot higher. As he performed his smash hit, he commanded the stage well, where both sides of the venue were able to see him and he simultaneously shook his fans' hands throughout his energetic performance.
He appropriately changed the final lyric of "Chillin' It" to "New York City, I love rocking with you when, ya'll we're just chilling it."
"I'll chill with you all damn night. Thank ya'll so much. Thank you for an unbelievable memory. This is my first time that I've ever played here," the gracious country singer said.
The Verdict
Overall, country singer Cole Swindell showcased a great deal of talent in one of the biggest arena's in the world. He is certainly one of country music's most promising newcomers and he should look forward to a bright future in the country genre. He garnered two thumbs up.
