article imageOp-Ed: 2014 Grammy predictions for 'Best Country Album'

By Markos Papadatos     Dec 25, 2013 in Entertainment
Five country albums are in the running for the 2014 Grammy award for "Best Country Album." It includes three male solo artists and two female solo artists.
Nominated artists include Jason Aldean for Night Train, Tim McGraw for Two Lanes of Freedom, Kacey Musgraves for Same Trailer Different Park, Blake Shelton for Based On A True Story and Taylor Swift for Red.
Who Should Win: I have listened to all of these nominated albums and my two personal favorite releases include Blake Shelton's Based On A True Story and Kacey Musgraves' CD Same Trailer Different Park. If either record wins, I would be really happy. Although I enjoyed Taylor Swift's previous album Speak Now a lot more than Red, one cannot ignore it's commercial success, especially since it is approaching four million in record sales.
Who Will Win: Most likely, this Grammy is Taylor Swift's to lose. She has had an amazing year and Red is also nominated in the prestigious "Album of the Year" category, thus making a solid lock.
