article imageNirvana played last concert twenty years ago today

By Markos Papadatos     Mar 1, 2014 in Music
Iconic rock band Nirvana had played their last concert together as a group on March 1, 1994, at Terminal Eins in Munich, Germany.
Nirvana was made up of Kurt Cobain on lead vocals and guitar, as well as bassist Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl on drums and backing vocals.
As indicated in an article on UltraClassicRock's official website, this had happened five weeks before Kurt Cobain committed suicide, at the age of 27.
Fast forward 20 years later, and Nirvana will be inducted into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in their first year of eligibility, and rightfully so, since they transformed grunge and alternative rock music into the genre it is today. They will be joined by such artists as Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, Kiss and Hall & Oates for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2014.
