In the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, the song moves up one spot to No. 2 (right behind Billy Currington’s “It Don’t Hurt Like It Used To”), with the potential to climb up to No. 1 on the following week.
The single had spent 49 weeks on the Country Mediabase and Aircheck charts, thus becoming the longest-running song to reach the top in the chart’s history. “I Met a Girl,” which received a glowing review from Digital Journal, has spent a total of 58 weeks on the county radio airwaves.
“I Met a Girl” is a track on his breakthrough studio album, Vinyl, which was released on Warner Music Nashville. This love song has become a staple at wedding ceremonies.
