The Who to release brand new studio album ‘WHO’ this winter

They are one of the best-selling live band of all-time, having sold in excess of 100 million records worldwide in a distinguished music career that has spanned nearly six decades.

The Who will be releasing their first album of new material in 13 years, entitled WHO. It is comprised of 11 tracks that were recorded in Los Angeles and in London in the spring and summer of this year. The album was co-produced by Pete Townshend and D. Sardy.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Roger Daltrey, CBE, and Pete Townshend are joined by such musicians as long-time drummer Zak Starkey, Pino Palladino on bass, with contributions from Simon Townshend, Benmont Tench, Carla Azar, Joey Waronker, and Gordon Giltrap.

The songs on their upcoming collection cover a wide variety of topics such as the Grenfell Tower fire, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the power of memory, as well as “an old rock star that has lost his marbles.” Daltrey described it as one of their “strongest” studio efforts since Quadrophenia came out in 1973.

WHO is available for pre-order on Apple Music, Amazon and Spotify.
