The Marshall Tucker Band’s Doug Gray remembers Gregg Allman (Includes interview)

Upon finding out the news of the passing of southern rock icon Gregg Allman, Marshall Tucker Band front-man and lead singer Doug Gray remarked, “This is a very sad show day for me.”

Gray went on to praise Allman for being a “guy that showed him more respect in the music business than anybody else. “He also taught me how to please an audience with your voice and pour your heart out and never regret. Ride in Peace, my friend,” Gray said.

Allman passed away today at his home in Savannah, Georgia. He was the founding member of the iconic southern rock group, The Allman Brothers Band. He was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, as a member of The Allman Brothers Band. Gregg Allman was 69 years old.

Digital Journal had chatted with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Gregg Allman back in August of 2015.

On August 29, 2015, Allman headlined his Laid Back Festival at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Long Island.
