Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano talk Marquee New York, Electric Zoo (Includes interview)

They will be performing at Marquee New York on May 20. “New York always feels like home. We will be playing a lot of new tracks and a lot of new promos, and we will try to keep it sexy and tribal,” they said.

Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano started their own record label SONO Music, and they have their own residency at Ibiza this summer alongside Armin van Buuren. “We have so many artists and talents around us, so we created a new platform for all those new artists doing their own thing. That’s the main reason behind doing the label: to help new talent,” they said.

They will also be playing big festivals like Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, Creamfields and Electric Zoo in New York. “We haven’t played a festival in New York in a while now, so Electric Zoo is going to be fun,” they said. “Electric Zoo is going to be nice with a lot of different styles. We are going to stick to our own house style.”

Each day, the duo is motivated by their travels and their family and kids. “We are inspired by positive things, and the fun we have. It’s definitely not work at all,” they said.

The duo shared that they loved playing in Greece, especially in Athens, Crete, Hersonissos and Mykonos. “Greece has great food and the islands are amazing,” they said. “We always love to go to Mykonos!”

On their plans for the future, they said, “We are doing a radio show weekly. We already have hit 165 episodes. We are also trying to sign some new artists on our record label, and hopefully, they can have a career on our label.”

They listed Christina Aguilera as their dream collaboration choice, and they complimented the voice of Emma Hewitt.

For aspiring DJ and producers, they said, “Get inspired by artists that you like, but always play with your heart. Stay true to yourself, and do what you feel. Otherwise, you won’t last. Work very hard.”
