Review: Zac Brown Band cover group returns to Mulcahy’s for fall show (Includes first-hand account)

A great turnout of Long Island fans showed up to celebrate the music of Zac Brown Band. They kicked off their set with “Natural Disaster” and it was followed by “Keep Me in Mind” and “The Wind,” which had a laid-back vibe to them.

“Toes” was a fan-favorite in the earlier part of the show, and they showcased their soothing vocals and united harmonies on “Sweet Annie.” It was followed by “Castaway” and the popular “Knee Deep.”

The audience was reciting every lyric to “Jump Right In,” while “Let’s Go Crazy” had a liberating vibe to it. Equally infectious was their smash hit “Homegrown” and they picked up the pace with “Beautiful Drug,” which was quite addicting from a melodical standpoint.

The inclusion of the Metallica cover “Enter Sandman,” was an added bonus since they made their fans feel like they were in Citi Field, Flushing, watching a real Zac Brown Band arena concert.

In addition, they saved two of their best songs for the end of their set, which included “Colder Weather,” which is this journalist’s all-time favorite Zac Brown Band tune (due to their velvet harmonies), and their signature anthem “Chicken Fried.”

The Verdict

Overall, Zac Brown Tribute Band (ZBTB) was superb at Mulcahy’s. They always manage to deliver and put on a high-octane live show that does the Zac Brown justice. Their set garnered an A rating.
