article imageReview: Yellow Claw puts on rocking set at 'Electric Zoo: The 6th Boro' Special

New York - On September 3, electronic duo Yellow Claw performed at "Electric Zoo: The 6th Boro" in Randall's Island Park in New York.
Yellow Claw's set was upbeat and infectious, and it included pyrotechnics along the way. They performed on the elephant-themed main stage (from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.), and they had their fans clapping their hands along the way. "Are you guys having a good time?" they inquired. "Make some noise," they told their listeners.
"So, on the count on three, we need everybody to yell," they said, as one of the members from the duo stood on the DJ booth. In return, the crowd was yelling "Yellow Claw," thus obeying their orders. They shared that they're from Amsterdam, and they came all the way to New York, and they inserted a few expletives to underscore their excitement.
Ironically enough, their new album is titled Los Amsterdam, which is a combination of Los Angeles and Amsterdam.
The Verdict
Overall, Yellow Claw was able to command the elephant-theme staged well. Their performance was bold, witty and unfiltered, to the point where one could sense their enthusiasm for their craft. They were able to warm up the stage for Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz and Deadmau5. Their set garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars.
