article imageReview: Yellow Claw delight on new electronic album 'Los Amsterdam' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Apr 2, 2017 in Music
Electronic duo Yellow Claw released their new studio album, "Los Amsterdam," on March 31 on the record label Mad Decent.
The duo is made up of Jim Aasgier and Nizzle, and their new CD is quite eclectic. It debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Dance charts. It is comprised of 13 tracks with many special musical guests. It opens with "Home," which features vocals from Sophie Simmons (the daughter of Kiss rocker Gene Simmons) and it is followed by "Without You" and "Love & War."
Their "Good Day" collaboration with DJ Snake and Elliphant has gone viral, and rightfully so.
"Stacks" is a solid collaboration with Quavo, Cesqeaux and Tinie Tempah, while "City on Lockdown" has a rap vibe to it. Ironically enough, "Open" marks the first song to ever be recorded in English by Dutch rapper Jonna Fraser.
Los Amsterdam is available on iTunes.
The Verdict
The new Yellow Claw album Los Amsterdam garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. There is a lot of variety on this project, and there is something in it for everybody.
Digital Journal chatted with Yellow Claw about their new album.
