The groovy song has a laid-back and mellow vibe to it, coupled with an infectious melody. “Don’t start rainin’ on my Mardi Gras parade for a minute, I ain’t even fixin’ to listen to your guilt trippin,’ you’re forgettin’ girl you made your bed and didn’t want me in it,” Hayes sings.
“You Broke Up With Me” was co-penned by Hayes and songwriters Thomas Archer and Kylie Sackley, and it was subsequently produced by Grammy-winning producer Shane McAnally. It is the first release from his upcoming debut studio album on Monument Records.
