article imageReview: Trent Tomlinson soars on 'That's What's Working Right Now' single Special

By Markos Papadatos     May 24, 2017 in Music
Country singer Trent Tomlinson is back stronger than ever with his newest radio single "That's What's Working Right Now."
Tomlinson deserves to be commended for his ability to stay true to his country roots, and his sincere storytelling ability is evident on his latest single "That's What's Working Right Now." The fiddle solo is exceptional, and it has a traditional country vibe that is missing on the radio airwaves these days.
"So hey there bartender, you better hang close, cause I'm looking for answers, in that bottle you hold, the truth is its over, but oh what the hell, if I want to go on, and lie to myself," Tomlison sings, and he is able to paint a vivid picture in the minds of his country listeners.
An Arkansas native, Tomlinson sings with a great deal of heart and conviction. Musically, he belongs in the same category as neo-traditionalists Easton Corbin and Joe Nichols, and that ought to be taken as a major compliment. With a vocal of this caliber, Tomlinson certainly puts over 90 percent of the male artists that are played on mainstream country radio to shame (especially when the emphasis is on bro-country, party and drinking songs).
The Verdict
Grab a bottle of wine and let Trent Tomlinson lure you in with "That's What's Working Right Now." His latest single is compelling, and it garners five out of five stars. Congratulations on a job well done Trent.
Trent Tomlinson's "That's What's Working Right Now" is available on iTunes.
