They began their Beacon Theatre set with “Singing Low,” and continued with the fan-favorite tune “You Found Me,” where everybody was singing along.
After “Hurricane,” they immediately broke into the piano-driven “Look After You,” which was incorporated with a soothing medley of Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” where they were able to get everybody on their feet. From the first half of their show, the song that got the loudest reaction from the fans was their signature tune “How to Save a Life,” which earned them a Grammy nomination.
They were able to strip down some songs during the acoustic portion of the show, which included “Heartbeat,” “Heaven Forbid,” “Wherever This Goes,” and they closed with a neat acoustic cover of “Heartless,” where they did the Kanye West song more than justice.
From the second half of their set, two standout tracks included “Hold My Hand” and “Never Say Never.” They closed with “Syndicate” and their Grammy-nominated smash single “Over My Head (Cable Car).”
The Verdict
Overall, The Fray was able to rock out Beacon Theatre in New York. Their songs were infectious and impressive, and their live performance at this iconic venue in “The Big Apple” garnered two thumbs up.
