article imageReview: The 90's Band rocks Mulcahy's with The Ronald Reagans Special

Wantagh - On June 2, Phil and Bianca from The 90's Band, along with drummer Luke and bassist Bobby, headlined Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall for 90's night. Music was provided by DJ Mike Savage.
They were joined by '80s tribute act The Ronald Reagans, who were able to warm up the stage for them in a fun, upbeat show.
Front-woman Bianca kicked off The 90's Band's set with a fierce version of Alanis' "You Oughta Know," while front-man Phil encouraged the audience to sing along on "Semi-Charmed Life," as blue lights dimmed from the stage.
"Let me hear you girls," she said, and immediately broke into No Doubt's "Just a Girl" and Phil did a cool duet version of "Tubthumping" with Bianca. "How about that '80s band. They rocked," Bianca said, praising The Ronald Reagans.
Phil continued with the laid-back and carefree "All Star" by Smash Mouth, while Bianca had fun on the sassy "Wannabe." Equally flirty was her rendition of Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time." She went on to serenade a fan, Nick, for his birthday by singing "Happy Birthday" to him a cappella. "You rock. You guys are great," they told their audience.
They immediately broke into "Name" by Goo Goo Dolls, and as green lights dimmed from the stage, they slowed down the pace with Sublime's "Santeria." Bianca had fun on Meredith Brook's "Bitch," and the girls were jumping along in the crowd. Phil nailed Blink-182's "What's My Age Again?" and "All the Small Things."
"Are you guys ready to sing?" Phil asked. "Looks like you're falling asleep," he added, and then made them sing the first verse of Oasis' "Wonderwall."
The 90's Band threw some country in the mix with Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman," and it was followed by such rock staples as "Basket Case" and "My Own Worst Enemy." One of the most memorable performances was the inclusion of Melissa Etheridge's "Come to My Window" in their set, sung by Bianca, where every fan in the venue was reciting the lyrics verbatim to this rock anthem. Bianca showcased her honey-rich voice on Alanis Morissette's "Ironic."
The Verdict
Overall, one could always count on The 90's Band for a fun, Friday night on Long Island, as they help the audience relive their youth. This show was extra special with The Ronald Reagans and their '80s covers. Both bands delighted, and their shows earned an A rating. Well done.
