Review: Taylor Swift radiant at Z100’s Jingle Ball show in New York City (Includes first-hand account)

Dressed in an elegant black short skirt, Swift kicked off her set with the infectious “Ready for It?” where she was joined by her background vocalists, as red lights dimmed from the stage. She continued with the nonchalant and mid-tempo “Blank Space,” and immediately broke into her liberating “Shake It Off.”

She performed an expressive version of “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” as she accompanied herself on acoustic guitar, where the Madison Square Garden audience was reciting the lyrics verbatim. Mid-way through the song, Swift encouraged her fans to light up their phones, and it produced a beautiful sight. “Oh, it good,” she admitted.

British singing sensation Ed Sheeran joined Swift for their duet of “End Game,” where their crisp harmonies blended well with each other. This collaboration is featured on Swift’s new studio album Reputation. She closed her Jingle Ball set with her album’s lead single, the spitfire “Look What You Made Me Do,” where she showed some attitude, and some sassy dance moves.

The Verdict

Overall, Taylor Swift put on a radiant live performance at Z100’s Jingle Ball that took place at Madison Square Garden in the Big Apple. Her six-song set earned an A rating.
