Review: Skillet amazing on new rock album ‘Unleased Beyond’ (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the rocking and powerhouse track “Feel Invincible,” and it is followed by the infectious “Back From the Dead” and the sonically stunning “Stars,” which instantly lures the listener’s attention.

“I Want to Live” is fearless, and equally noteworthy is “Undefeated.” “Lions” stands out as one of the highlight tunes on the album, and the inclusion of former Flyleaf front-woman Lacey Sturm on “Breaking Free” is pure genius, since she helps elevate the song to a higher level. “The Resistance” has an optimistic message to it. “Stay Til The Daylight” showcases the band’s soft side, in a well-crafted ballad, and “Watching for Comets” is poetic, with a neat melody to it.

The 20-track album closes with remix version for “Feel Invincible,” “The Resistance” and “Stars.”

The Verdict

Overall, Skillet has released yet another incredible album with their deluxe edition of Unleased Beyond. There is something in it for everybody, due to the versatility of songs on this project. It garners an A rating.

Unleased Beyond is available on Amazon and on iTunes.
