“I just want to take a moment to keep him in our thoughts and our prayers,” Stapp said, referring to Chris Cornell. “I’m going to sing a little bit of a song that he wrote, and I want you guys to sing it with me if you know it.”
Stapp serenaded his fans to the chorus of the Soundgarden classic “Black Hole Sun,” and immediately broke into the Creed smash hit “One Last Breath,” which was an appropriate track for this moving tribute. “All of you sing it now,” Stapp said, and the crowd fulfilled his request. “Thank you,” he said, graciously, following the warm reception.
On Monday, May 22, Scott Stapp will be performing at the fifth annual Pink Tie event at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York, where all of the proceeds will benefit the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation.
