Review: San Holo delivers upbeat set at ‘Electric Zoo: The Big 10’ (Includes first-hand account)

His hour-long set was well-received by all. San Holo displayed his wide range in his craft, especially since his talent is far more than spinning records in the DJ booth; moreover, his music encompassed elements of trap and future bass, similar to top American DJ Jauz, who played the main stage after San Holo.

San Holo had the audience with him every step of the way. He was not afraid to push the boundaries. He kicked off his show with a distinct version of his smash single “Light.”

Equally impressive tracks were “I Still See Your Face,” “One Thing” and “Right Here, Right Now,” all of which were released last year.

His new track “brighter days” featuring Bipolar Sunshine was melodic, atmospheric and exceptional. Most importantly, this song has an optimistic message to it that every dance music listener would appreciate.

“Once again, I want to thank you guys for being so cute,” he said, prior to closing with “Light.” “We’re going to do this one more time okay,” he said during the last verse, and then he took out his electric guitar and simply nailed it. “Holy shit, New York,” he exclaimed, following the warm reception of his show.

The Verdict

Overall, San Holo gave his audience at “Electric Zoo: The Big 10” exactly what they wanted: a fun, entertaining and interactive show, which garnered two giant thumbs up. San Holo proved that is one of the most underrated artists in the contemporary dance music scene. Well done.
