Review: Riley Green tugs at the heart in ‘Bury Me in Dixie’ video (Includes first-hand account)

The lyrics are nostalgic, heart-warming and personal, where many listeners (who have moved out of their hometown) can easily relate to them.

“Take me to the Flora-Bama, and set me up at the mullet toss, and everybody drinks on me I don’t care what it cost, but take me to Talladega, spread my ashes in turn three, paint my casket black with a big ass number three, I’ll rest in peace, if they bury me in Dixie,” Green sings.

His well-crafted music video for the song was directed by David Pennington, and it is worth more than just a passing glance.

The Verdict

Overall, Riley Green has released a poignant tune, and an even more remarkable music video with “Bury Me in Dixie.” There is an honesty and authenticity to this country ballad. He epitomizes the best that modern country music has to offer: meaningful stories. “Bury Me in Dixie” garners an A rating.

Green’s Outlaws Like Us EP is available on iTunes and on Amazon.
