By Markos Papadatos     May 16, 2017 in Music
On May 16, Papa Roach performed at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City, in support of their ninth studio album "Crooked Teeth."
This event was hosted by Jonathan Clarke. Papa Roach opened their set with the mid-tempo and spitfire "Scars." "Sing it with me now," lead singer Jacoby Shaddix shouted, midway through the song.
"How ya'll feeling? You're looking good tonight. New York, what's up?" he asked, prior to introducing the bass player. "Put your hands up," he screamed, and immediately broke into "Getting Away with Murder."
"Oh yeah, we're killing it," they exclaimed. When asked about their album's title, Shaddix noted that it's "human, real, honest" and being all right with your flaws. "We can still survive. That has been a Papa Roach message for years," he said.

They had their fans singing along to their hit single "Help," where they were able to experience the growl in their voices. After a sip of water, they continued with the electrifying "Born for Greatness," as yellow and blue lights dimmed from the stage. "We're going to bounce," they said.
When asked by Clarke which artists they would love to collaborate with, Shaddix shared that he is in his "fantasy band" right now, but he praised British singer-songwriter "Ed Sheeran" for being "dope."
"Y'all ready to shout it off?" they asked, and went on to belt out their signature song "Last Resort." Shaddix went into audience and sang it with the fans in the front row. "Let me hear you scream!" he exclaimed. It was well-received with a raucous response.
"We're going to get crooked with you all," he said, prior to asking them to pay attention to the drummer, Tony Palermo on the title track "Crooked Teeth." "It's fucking amazing!" he said, praising Palermo's drum playing. "That's Tony Palermo on the drums right there. You're sweating right there," he said. "Are you guys sweating?" he asked the iHeartRadio audience.
They followed it up with the mid-tempo "She Loves Me Not." "Where's the party at later tonight?" he asked, prior to singing "Forever," which showcased their softer side. "Why thank you," he screamed. "We're going to kick it some more. We have more songs for you!"
"Give it to me now!" Shaddix exclaimed, and went on to perform the upbeat "Kick in the Teeth." "We got one more. We gotta burn this place down," he said. "This is for the old school bands. Sing it with me ya'll," he said, and concluded their set with the angst-filled "Between Angels And Insects."
"Thank you guys very much," Shaddix said. "Papa Roach everybody. Guys take a bow," Jonathan Clarke added.
Papa Roach's new album is available for pre-order on iTunes.
