Review: Olivia Newton-John stunning on new collaborative album ‘Liv On’ (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the mellow “My Heart Goes Out to You,” which features their soaring harmonies, and it is followed by the mellifluous “Live On,” as well as the mid-tempo “Stone in My Pocket.”

“Sand and Water” is another tender ballad, and “Forever Blue” is equally gorgeous, as if it were a gentle lullaby. “Immortality” is a powerful yet heartfelt tune, and “Don’t Know What to Say” has a calming vibe to it. The ballad “Impossible” ought to be enjoyed for its beauty and simplicity. “I Will Take Care of You” is a reassuring story song. Their 11-track album closes with the atmospheric “Grace and Gratitude” and the optimistic ballad “There’s Still My Joy.”

The Verdict

Overall, Olivia, Amy and Beth are able to convey a wide spectrum of emotions on this new musical project, and all three songstress deliver. They are not afraid to showcase their vulnerability as artists, and with these moving lyrics, many of their fans and listeners can relate to the songs and their messages. This CD garners an A rating.
