Review: Mike DelGuidice sensational on sophomore studio album ‘My Street’ (Includes first-hand account)

The CD opens with the upbeat “Ordinary Guy,” which is the theme song on the hit sitcom Kevin Can Wait. It is followed by the whimsical ballad “All Wrong” featuring DelGuidice’s rich, powerhouse voice.

“My God Is There” is mid-tempo and soothing, while “One Step” is a piano-driven ballad, with a neat echo effect to it. “Holy Water (Revisited)” has a spiritual side to it, while “Survive” is comprised of neat acoustic instrumentation, coupled with DelGuidice’s crystalline vocals. Equally charming are the youthful “Over Again” and the upbeat “How Long.”

The title track “My Street” has a jazz vibe to it, and it closes on an inspirational note with the gorgeous acoustic ballad about faith and redemption entitled “My God Is There.”

The Verdict

Overall, there is no sophomore slump on Mike DelGuidice’s My Street. He is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability as a recording artist, and it is safe to say that his vulnerability is the listening audience’s reward. All of the songs have their own identities. My Street garners an A rating.
