By Markos Papadatos     Oct 28, 2017 in Music
Rising country songstress Melanie Meriney has released her new music video for her single "Lifeboat," which was released on Steel Fox Records.
It is evident that Meriney has the voice of an angel, where the listener can recall country songstresses Faith Hill meets Jessica Andrews. The song has an uplifting country pop vibe to it, which is extremely radio-friendly. Her vocals are breathy, controlled and crystalline.
"This is the call that I've been expecting, I've heard from around town she left your heart out, And now you're broken, You'd never say it, baby I don't think it's, really ain't a secret," Meriney sings, in the opening verse.
"Lifeboat" is a track on her Up in Lights EP, which was released in May of 2017. The music video made its premiere on GAC (Great American Country) on October 26. On her Facebook post, Meriney revealed that it was a dream come true for her to be featured on GAC, since she grew up watching videos on this network. The songstress went on to thank everybody for working so hard for making this music video successful, as well as actors Connor and Will, who had to jump off on cliff in one of the scenes.
The Verdict
Overall, Melanie Meriney charms on her new music video for "Lifeboat." It is great to hear more high-quality songs by women in country music, and Meriney definitely delivers. This is a single and a music video that are worth more than just a passing glance. Well done! "Lifeboat" garners an A rating.
Her new single "Lifeboat" is available on iTunes.
