Review: Meghan Linsey impressive on new studio album ‘Bold Like a Lion’ (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the mid-tempo and sassy “Bold Like a Lion,” which is an anthem of female empowerment, and it immediately breaks into the liberating “Ride or Die,” as well as ‘Freak for the Beast.”

Then, it is followed by two back-to-back powerhouse tunes such as “Permanent Marker” and “Mr. Homewrecker,” both of which she knocks out of the park. “Say It to My Face” is a sultry collaboration with singing sensation Aloe Blacc.

“Exes and Friends” is extremely radio-friendly and infectious. “Let It Go” is a nostalgic and crisp vocal by Linsey. “Neon Sky’ is another keeper.

After the stirring “Made Me This Way,” it closes with “Hearts Against the Wall” and the haunting piano-driven ballad “Save Me from Myself,” where she hits the high notes.

The Verdict

Overall, Meghan Linsey delivers on her new studio album, Bold Like a Lion. It is recommended for fans and music listeners. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
