article imageReview: Marla refreshing on new single 'Try Telling My Heart That' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Sep 17, 2017 in Music
Nashville - Up-and-coming country recording artist Marla has released her new radio single "Try Telling My Heart That" on September 15.
She co-wrote the song with songwriters Witt McKay and Grant Vogel. "Try Telling My Heart That" was co-produced by Marla, as well as Grammy nominated producer Brad Hill (who has worked with Maren Morris and Brothers Osborne) and producer/songwriter Joe Fox.
Marla's breathy vocals are reminiscent of such country songstresses as LeAnn Rimes meets Carrie Underwood. It is a song that many fans and listeners can relate to, especially anybody who has experienced a break-up. She showcases a great deal of strength on this unflinching vocal performance. Most remarkable about Marla is that she sings in a lower register than most of her fellow contemporary musicians.
The Verdict
Overall, Marla is impressive on her new single "Try Telling My Heart That." Her vocals are warm, refreshing and promising. The song garners an A rating. Her music is worth more than just a passing glance.
"Try Telling My Heart That" is available on Spotify and on iTunes.
