Review: Luke Bryan puts on pleasant show at Samsung 837 in New York City (Includes first-hand account)

The country sensation kicked off his set on a fun note with “Move,” and immediately broke into “That’s My Kind of Night,” which was an early fan favorite. As always, Bryan interacted well with his New York audience members, thus showcasing his warm and bubbly personality.

He continued with his first Billboard chart-topping country single “Rain Is a Good Thing,” as well as his latest radio single “Light It Up,” which is on its way of becoming his next No. 1 hit. Equally pleasant was “Roller Coaster,” which displayed his crystalline voice.

An added bonus was hearing two new tracks from his new album, the heartfelt acoustic ballad “Most People Are Good” and the title cut “What Makes You Country.” It was followed by the uplifting “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,” where the crowd was reciting the lyrics verbatim.

“I Don’t Want This Night To End” was easily the theme song of the night, since all the country fans wanted this Luke Bryan show to go on forever. He closed with his infectious party anthem, “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”

What Makes You Country is available on iTunes.
