article imageReview: Lime's Rob Hubertz and Joy Dorris superb at Mulcahy's in New York Special

Wantagh - On August 5, Lime performed at Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall on Long Island, as part of the "I Love the 80s Dance Party."
The show was presented by Michelle Licata, hosted by Vinny Dice Ruggiero, and DJ Johnny Iovino spun in between sets. Something Fresh got the fans energized by belting out their 80's hits.
Rob Hubertz and Joy Dorris of Lime kicked off their set with the signature song"Babe, We're Gonna Love Tonight," as green and yellow lights dimmed from the stage, where they were able to lure the Mulcahy's crowd in from the first note. Joy Dorris' vocals were piercing and impressive (reminiscent of ABBA meets Stacey Q), coupled by Hubertz' rich voice that was smooth as silk.
"How are we doing today?" Hubertz asked. "If I fall down on this microphone wire, can somebody catch me?" Joy Dorris asked. They immediately broke into "Come and Get Your Love," where they threw custom-made bracelets to their fans and listeners.
It was followed by "Guilty" and "Unexpected Lovers," where they were able to belt out hit after hit. "Are you guys having fun?" they asked, and the answer was a resounding yes. The infectious "Angel Eyes" had a haunting and hypnotic vibe to it, which left their listening audience yearning for more. "Make some noise!" Hubertz exclaimed.
Lime closed on an uplifting note with "Your Love," which was the song that Dorris claimed as her personal favorite, and rightfully so.
The Verdict
Overall, Lime was able to put on an upbeat and superb show at Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall. Rob Hubertz and Joy Dorris were high-energy performers, and their nostalgic vocals resonated well with the crowd. They are worth seeing live whenever they come to town. Lime's set garnered five out of five stars.
